Six things you didn't know about welding systems
Successful welding requires experience - but sometimes experience can be problematic: for example, if the wrong operation forms a habit, or if a modern intelligent welding system operates in exactly the same way as an old welder from decades ago. Seriously: how many of you have gone through hundreds of pages of operating instructions when switching to a new system? In this article you will discover six little-known facts about welding systems that you should be aware of if you want to weld better and more efficiently.
High-quality welding systems are designed on the principle that operational errors have as little effect on them as possible. Experienced welders can usually achieve good results even if they completely ignore the manufacturer's key warnings and recommendations. But the fact remains that even particularly robust welding systems with very high-quality wear parts do not guarantee that the welder will be abused in the long term. Continued incorrect operation can incur maintenance costs of various amounts at some point in the future.
If you want to use your welding system for as long and efficiently as possible, there are a number of key things you should be aware of. These things are practically obvious too - and are also written in the operating instructions. However, time and time again, the service team at Welding Technology finds that a surprisingly large number of welders are not aware of these things or simply ignore them.
